Bari's mayor Leccese has written to Figc presidential candidates, Giovanni Malagò and Giancarlo Abete, asking for a "clear commitment" not to extend the deadline set for July 1, 2028, for the current multiproprietà rules. Ssc Bari is waiting for a sports project and without certainty about the future. Leccese has expressed these concerns in a letter sent to Malagò and Abete. Ssc Bari was relegated to Serie C after losing the play-out against Südtirol. The Bari club would have two more seasons as a "sister" team of Napoli in Serie A. A scenario no longer bearable for the fans and the municipality. Leccese, after the relegation, had asked for a meeting with President Luigi De Laurentiis, to ask for clarification on the club's industrial plan. A request that was ignored, which led to a back-and-forth exchange of emails between the Bari club's number one and the mayor. A complex situation in which the tender for the five-year concession of the San Nicola stadium, not yet assigned and for which Ssc Bari was the only one to have submitted a bid, has also been inserted. Leccese, who just yesterday confirmed that there is no extension of the previous concession related to the sports facility, authorizing however the holding of 5 outdoor concerts, has therefore wanted to take a new initiative at the end of a series of meetings held in recent days with the group leaders of the City Council and some representatives of the organized fan base. Ssc Bari is waiting for a sports project and without certainty about the future.
